Foster Care & Licensing Social Worker – Full-Time

The Opportunity: You will conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to move children toward permanency in a timely manner. This role involves documenting activities in an electronic system, presenting information to the court, and maintaining professional relationships with foster and birth parents.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, Family Studies or related field required. Master’s degree and/or previous child welfare experience is preferred.

Parent Partner | Mifamily Together

The Opportunity: Parent Partners bring lived experience with Children’s Protective Services or Foster Care Services and use that experience to provide peer-based coaching, support, encouragement, and guidance to parents enrolled in the MiFamily Together program. By sharing insights gained through their own successful engagement with services, Parent Partners empower parents to overcome challenges, build confidence, strengthen family relationships, and achieve individualized goals that support family well-being.

Parent Partner services are delivered through a combination of in-person and virtual/remote sessions, based on the individual needs of the client. Services may be provided during nontraditional hours to accommodate family schedules and needs.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s license, without restrictions, and all appropriate vehicle insurances
  • A previously open Children’s Protective Services (CPS) or foster care case with successful case closure.
  • A stable family situation without current children protective services (CPS) investigation with confirmed maltreatment.
  • Flexibility to attend meetings and facilitate groups including non-standard work hours such as evenings and weekends to meet client need.
  • Participation in mandated training(s), supervision, and team meetings.
  • A willingness to share caregiving experiences as a learning tool with other parents, community partners, and referring workers.
