In 2023, Orchards’ annual Food Drive, Toy Drive, and Adopt-a-Family initiatives not only brought joy to those in need but also showcased the incredible generosity and support from our community. Let’s take a closer look at how your gifts brought warmth to the hearts of so many children and families in our care.

Our 2023 Food Drive was a tremendous success! Thanks to our generous donors, we collected an array of non-perishable food items to ensure that families facing hardship still had a filling meal to gather around. From canned vegetables and yams to cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, and more, our staff and volunteers ensured that 450 bags of food reached those who needed it most. This act of giving was not just about providing meals but about fostering a sense of community and care during the holiday season.

This year’s Toy Drive was a testament to the magic of giving. Our community came together to donate new unwrapped toys for children of all ages, bringing smiles to so many faces. The joy of receiving a thoughtfully chosen gift during the holidays is something 1,292 of our children and families were able to experience this year.

We’d like to give a special shout-out to our friends at Toys for Tots who really stepped up in a big way for children in our care! We are truly grateful for their continued support as we work together to ensure every child receives a gift for the holidays.

On top of our toy drive, our Adopt-a-Family program was able to make the holiday season extra special for a few lucky families. We sincerely appreciate our community members who went the extra mile to adopt entire families and personally shop for each family member to give them a holiday to remember. This year, 87 families benefited from the generosity of our exceptional Adopt-a-Family donors. The warmth and love shared through this initiative created connections that went beyond material gifts, cultivating a sense of belonging and community spirit.

We would also like to thank the many donors and community partners who contributed to this years’ Holiday Initiatives and helped us spread cheer this time of year:

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers, donors, and partners who made these initiatives possible. Together, we have grown a harvest of warmth, compassion, and community that will resonate throughout the year. Thank you to all for helping to make the holidays brighter for those in need!
