Families First of Michigan Program
Serving 15 Michigan Counties
Families First of Michigan Program is an intensive home-based program, assisting families in crisis. Intensive services are provided for a period of 4-6 weeks and Families First workers spend an average of 10 face-to-face hours with families per week. The Families First workers assist families by establishing individual family goals designed to reduce the risk of out of home placement and increase child safety. The workers also assist families in meeting goals by teaching, modeling, and reinforcing appropriate parenting while providing concrete services and connections to community services. During the intervention the Families First of Michigan worker is available to families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the event of an emergency.
