JOB TITLE: Research Grant and Bid Writer

UNIT/SERVICE: Administration

REPORTS TO: President and CEO

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Within the framework of the agency’s mission, policies, procedures and resources, the Grant and Bid Writer (“Writer”) oversees the grant application process from beginning to end while working collaboratively across teams and leveraging the knowledge of internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The Writer will identify and apply for various grants that meet the organization’s needs and write successful bids to procure program contracts to meet the needs of children and families within the community.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

– Bachelor’s degree in related field.

– Grant / proposal writing certification preferred.

– At least two years of experience in grant applications and administration (non-profit and child welfare experience preferred).

– At least two years of experience in bid writing and procurement (non-profit and child welfare experience preferred).

I. Thorough understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

J. Thorough understanding of effective grant writing and bid procurement techniques.

K. Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.

L. Ability to meet deadlines.

M. Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.

N. Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.

O. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
